State Police in Boone County tell WSAZ.com that a tanker truck ran off the road spilling 1,000 gallons of off road diesel.
The truck was reported coming from Belle, West Virginia and headed to a mine in Logan County.
The wreck happened along Route 119 just a couple miles from the Kanawha County line.
There was fear fuel spilled into the Coal River, however, EPA officials have taken samples and say the fuel was contained to the river bank.
It's still unclear why the driver went off the road. He's in the hospital and expected to be okay, but troopers say they are still investigating what caused the crash.

BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A tanker truck has flipped late Friday night on U.S. 119 near the Boone/Kanawha line, spilling diesel fuel into the Coal River, Boone 911 dispatchers say.
It is unknown how much fuel has spilled.
The incident was reported about 10:15 p.m. Friday when the tanker tipped over a hill.
The roadway has not been shut down, dispatchers say.
