MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A man killed in a boating accident over the 4th of July holiday has been identified.
The West Virginia Department of Natural Resources say Scott Cunninham from Albany, Ohio, in Athens County, was killed Wednesday evening.
Investigators say Cunningam fell off his jet ski in the Ohio River in Meigs County, Ohio and was hit by a boat -- severing his arm.
Cunningham was pronounced dead before making it to a local hospital.
Cunningham was 42-years-old.
The DNR is still investigating the accident, but does believe charges will be filed.
The victim fell off the Jet Ski and was struck by a boat. He bled to death before rescuers could get him from the Ohio River to shore, Beegle said.
Officials with the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources are investigating the accident.
The man’s name has not been released yet.
