NEW INFO: Suspect Arrested in Huntington Shooting

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Federal authorities have put a hold on the man arrested in connection with a shooting on the parking lot of a Huntington gas station.

The shooting happened just after 11 p.m.Thursday on the parking lot of a gas station at 20th Street and 9th Avenue.

Huntington Police charged Stefon Ferguson, 26, of Huntington with malicious wounding, wanton endangerment and child endangerment.

Police say in the criminal complaint that Greg Truslow, 21, of Charleston, was shot several times in the arm as he was getting out Ferguson’s vehicle. Several of the shots that were fired also struck a car parked on the lot.

Truslow was treated and released at local hospital.

Officers say a young child, identified as Ferguson’s son, was in the vehicle when the shooting took place.

No word on what sparked the shooting.

Ferguson was arrested about 1:40 a.m. on the parking lot of a grocery store in the 100 block of West 7th Street.

He is being held in the Western Regional Jail on $150,000 bond.

Federal officials are holding Ferguson on a violation of his probation.

In May 2008, Ferguson was sentenced to 27 months in a federal prison on cocaine distribution charges. He has been on supervised release since June.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Huntington Police have made an arrest in connection with a shooting in Huntington late Thursday night.

Police say Stefon Ferguson, 26, of Huntington, is charged with malicious wounding, wanton endangerment and child endangerment.

The shooting happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday on the parking lot of a gas station at 20th Street and 9th Avenue.

Police say Greg Truslow, 21, of Charleston, was shot several times in the arm. A friend took Truslow to the hospital following the shooting. He was treated and released early Friday morning.

Officers say a young child was with Ferguson when the shooting took place. They believe the child was his son.

Ferguson was arrested about 1:40 a.m. on the parking lot of a grocery store in the 100 block of West 7th Street.

He was taken to the Western Regional Jail where he is awaiting arraignment in Cabell County Magistrate Court Friday morning.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Huntington Police are investigating a shooting that happened just after 11 p.m. at a gas station in the 1900 block of 9th Avenue.

A Huntington Police officer tells WSAZ.com a man was shot in the left arm, then driven to Cabell Huntington Hospital by a friend.

Cabell County 911 dispatchers say because the victim left the scene, officers were initially unaware there was a victim.

Officers were initially called to the scene after reports of shots being fired.

The officer who spoke with WSAZ.com says the incident is believed to be drug related.
