UPDATE: Man Killed by Train in Montgomery, Name Released

UPDATE 3/17/11 @ 10:15 a.m.
MONTGOMERY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man from Kanawha County is dead after he was hit by a train, Wednesday night in Fayette County.

Montgomery Police say Joey Sheet, 22, was walking along Fayette Pike West in Montgomery when he tried to cross the railroad tracks in the path of an oncoming Amtrak train.

The train hit Sheets, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheets was from Eskdale.

Police say the accident is still under investigation.



UPDATE 3/16/11 @ 10:15 p.m.
MONTGOMERY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An unidentified man was the victim of Wednesday night's fatal incident involving a passenger train.

It happened about 8 p.m. Wednesday just off of the Fayette Pike. Emergency workers say the man was hit on the tracks by an Amtrak train.

He died at the scene.

Fayette County 911 dispatchers tell WSAZ.com that the accident happened off of the Fayette Pike in Montgomery. Dispatchers say one person was killed.
