SCIOTOVILLE, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department have made an arrest in the PNC Bank robbery in late January.
According to the release, Rodger Whitt, 39, of Lucasville, Ohio, was arrested Monday evening at a family members home.
Whitt allegedly walked into the bank and handed the teller a note which indicated that he had a gun and demanded money. The tellers gave Whitt money and he fled the bank, according to the Portsmouth Police Department.
Dispatchers and officers received information about Whitt's involvement which led to the arrest, according to the release.
Whitt is being charged with Aggravated Robbery and his bond has been set at $50,000.
Whitt is scheduled to be in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Friday Feb. 11 at 10 a.m. He is being held in the Scioto County Jail.
Portsmouth Police were called to the PNC Bank branch at the corner of Harding and Winchester around 1 p.m. Thursday.
Police tell WSAZ.com the suspect passed a note to the teller indicating he had a weapon, but he did not show a gun.
