HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A fight between a couple ends with a woman in the hospital, and her boyfriend in jail.

Huntington Police arrested Nathan Graybeal, 32, late Tuesday night and charged him with malicious wounding and brandishing.

Police say they responded to a residence in the 300-block of Prospect Street in the Guyandotte area about 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on a brandishing call.

When officers arrived on scene, they were told Graybeal had pulled a knife on a woman and threatened to kill her.

They say he then got into a fight with a neighbor, before taking off.

Officers cleared the scene and filed a warrant for Graybeal's arrest on brandishing charge.

Several hours later, police were called to the address for a reported stabbing.

When officers arrived at the residence, they found Graybeal's girlfriend with a minor stab wound to the torso.

Graybeal was arrested at the scene.

He was then taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries he received in the earlier altercation.

He is now in the Western Regional Jail.

Police say Graybeal has a history of domestic violence.
