UPDATE: Guilty Plea in Louisa Bank Robbery

LOUISA, Ky. (WSAZ) -- The man arrested and charged with robbing a Louisa bank has pleaded guilty to the robbery.

Prosecutors say James Stepp, 33, of Louisa, robbed the Inez Deposit Bank in Louisa on June 14.

He was captured in Charleston a few days later.

On Friday, Stepp pleaded guilty to 2nd degree robbery will serve 10 years on the charge.

Assistant Commonwealth Attorney, Tony Skeens also tells WSAZ.com that Stepp pleaded guilty to 3rd degree burglary in connection with an unrelated case. He faces a sentence of three years for that crime to run concurrent with bank robbery plea.

Stepp will be formally sentenced on October 25.

LOUISA, Ky. (WSAZ) -- The man accused of robbing a Kentucky bank last month has been arraigned on the charge.

James Stepp, 33 of Louisa, is charged with robbing the Inez Deposit Bank in Louisa on June 14.

He was captured in Charleston a few days later.

Stepp was arraigned on the charge in Lawrence County Circuit Court on Monday.

The Circuit Clerks Office tells WSAZ.com during the hearing, Stepp's bond was set at $5,000 cash.

A pre-trial hearing has been set for August 23.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The man accused of robbing a Louisa, Ky. bank earlier this month will soon be heading back to Kentucky to face charges.

James Stepp, 33, of Louisa waived extradition during a hearing in Kanawha County Circuit Court Wednesday. Stepp was arrested by Charleston last week.

Kentucky State Police say he robbed the Inez Deposit Bank in Louisa on June 14.

They say Stepp entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller. After getting an undisclosed amount of money, he took off through a back door.

Troopers tell WSAZ.com that Stepp did not show a weapon during the robbery. They plan to charge him with 2nd degree robbery.

KSP has until July 10th to pick him up at the South Central Regional Jail.

LOUISA, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Kentucky State Police say the man who robbed a Louisa, Ky. bank last week has been arrested in Charleston W.Va.

Troopers say James Stepp, 33, of Louisa, robbed the Inez Deposit Bank. The robbery happened last Friday about 3 p.m. The bank is located in the 200 block of East Main Street.

No details of the arrest have been released at this time.

They say Stepp entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller. After getting an undisclosed amount of money, he took off through a back door, running down Lock Avenue towards Madison Street.

Troopers tell WSAZ.com that Stepp did not show a weapon during the robbery.

Charleston Police arrested Stepp Thursday. He is being charged with 2nd degree robbery.

LOUISA, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Kentucky State Police have named a suspect in last week's bank robbery in Louisa, Ky.

Troopers say James Stepp, 33, of Louisa, robbed the Inez Deposit Bank. The robbery happened last Friday about 3 p.m. The bank is located in the 200 block of East Main Street.

They say Stepp entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller. After getting an undisclosed amount of money, he took off through a back door, running down Lock Avenue towards Madison Street.

Troopers tell WSAZ.com that Stepp did not show a weapon during the robbery. They believe he is still in the area around Louisa, Ky. or Fort Gay, W.Va.

Stepp is being charged with 2nd degree robbery.

LOUISA, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A man remains on the run late Friday night after Kentucky State Police say he robbed the Inez Deposit Bank in Louisa earlier in the day.

The robbery happened just before 3 p.m. Friday at the bank in the bank in the 200 block of East Main Street.

State Police say the man entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller. After getting an undisclosed amount of money, he took off through back door running down Lock Avenue towards Madison Street.

The suspect was wearing a red and black baseball cap, khaki pants, long-sleeve patterned shirt over a white T-shirt with the letters WAX visible on the front of the shirt. He is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall with a slender build.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Kentucky State Police at 800-222-5555.

The robbery happened about 3 p.m. Friday.
