Bill Introduced to Increase Minimum Wage in West Virginia

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A bill has been introduced at the West Virginia Capitol to raise the minimum wage in the state.

The bill would raise the current minimum wage a dollar over the next year.

The plan includes an increase from $7.25 to $7.85 by July 1 of this year.

It would then increase to $8.25 in July 2015.

The bill is currently in the committee on industry and labor.
