KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Black ice is causing major problems in the Kanawha Valley.

Two separate crashes closed the westbound lanes of I-64 at the South Charleston-Dunbar bridge about 9 a.m.

The first accident happened when an SUV hit a retaining wall. The driver had to be taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

In the other accident, the driver of a red car slid into the median.

DOH crews were called to scene to salt the bridge.

Those westbound lanes are now back open.
