MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- You had better be in line early if you want to buy Blenko’s annual W.Va. Birthday piece.
At 8 a.m. Saturday, Blenko will put on sale 149 of the hand-blown glass pieces in honor the states 149th Birthday -- which is Wednesday.
This is the 32nd year Blenko has created the special birthday piece.
According to a news release, this year’s birthday piece celebrates the drama of West Virginia valley landscapes and is 12” high. Blenko artist, Arlon Bayliss has created a swirling vase form in turquoise, wrapped in zigzag yellow, brown and green lines.
Each piece is hand signed by Bayliss and Blenko President Walter Blenko, Jr.
Sales are limited to one per customer on a first come first serve basis.
