MARTIN COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A boil water advisory has been issued in part of Martin County after a problem with one of the water mains.
The Martin County Water District issued the advisory 11:30 p.m. Friday.
According to a release, the boil water advisory affects customs of Petercave, Big Branch, Emily Creek, Pigeon Roost and Route 1439 Meathouse Road.
The water company said a 6-inch main water line, located near the intersection 1714 and 1439. developed a split. It has been repaired.
The boil water advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure.
Customers are asked to boil all water used for drinking and cooking.
Bring the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before consuming it.
The advisory affects 250 customers.
