CANNONSBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A boil water advisory that cancelled the first day of school in Boyd County has been lifted.
The advisory was issued due to a line replacement by the Cannonsburg Water District.
School and Health Department officials felt is was best to use a Flexible Professional Development Day during the boil advisory.
The advisory is no longer in effect.
The postponement is due to a boil water advisory that was issued for Cannonsburg earlier this week. The advisory is due to a line replacement.
District officials say that in consultation with the Boyd County Health Department they decided to postpone the first day until Monday.
Friday will be considered a Flexible Professional Development day for all certified staff.
According to a press release from the school, the Ponderosa Elementary Open House scheduled for Thursday, August 2 at 6:30 p.m. will go ahead as scheduled.
All customers on the Cannonsburg Water District will need to boil their water until further notice.
The advisory is in place for line replacement.
