Bottled Water Used for Game Day Cooking

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- If you're planning on eating pizza and wings while watching the big game Sunday, some restaurants want you to know, they're still using bottled water.

The phone at Husson's Pizza in Charleston was ringing off the hook Sunday, just hours before the big game.

"We have some extra orders. We've made a good bit of extra wings because a lot of times people like chicken wings with football. We've made double the amount of wings we normally do," says driver, Adam Melton.

Customers were calling to place last minute orders and ask more than just about toppings.

"There have been multiple calls that have come in and the first thing people ask is 'are we cooking with bottled water' and we say, 'yes,' which we are ."

It's that extra attention to detail that employees are hoping helps them ring in the dough.

"With the whole water situation, we're going to use bottled water as long as we can. In preparation with food, there's water in everything from dough to sauce to everything else," Melton said.

Employees say they do not use bottled water for ice or the soda fountain, but they do tell customers ahead of time. They also have bottled soda available.
