BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A former teacher is headed to prison for 10 years after he admitted to having child porn.

Thomas Sellers, 41, of Catlettsburg, was sentenced Friday in Boyd County Circuit Court.

Last month, he pleaded guilty to seven child porn counts.

ellers was once a teacher in the Lawrence County, Kentucky, school district.

The charges stem from a 2012 undercover operation by the Ohio Attorney General's Office, which identified a computer and internet account, belonging to Sellers, that possessed images of child sexual exploitation.

The investigation was then turned over to Kentucky's Cybercrimes Unit, which executed a search at Sellers' home, and found 455 images and 325 videos of child porn, according to Ky. Attorney General Jack Conway.

The Kentucky Attorney General says Thomas Sellers, 41, of Catlettsburg pleaded guilty to seven counts during a hearing in Boyd County Circuit Court last month.

Sellers is expected to receive a 10-year prison sentence when he returns to court later this month.

The charges against Sellers stem from a 2012 undercover operation by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, which identified a computer and internet account, belonging to Sellers, that possessed images of child sexual exploitation.

The investigation was then turned over to Kentucky’s Cybercrimes Unit, which executed a search at Sellers’ home, and found 455 images and 325 videos of child porn, according to Ky. Attorney General Jack Conway.

CATLETTSBURG, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A Boyd County, Ky. man has been arrested on child porn charges following an undercover investigation in both Kentucky and Ohio.

Kentucky Attorney General Jack Conway announced Monday that 40-year-old Thomas Sellers, of Catlettsburg, was arrested Friday on eight counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

Sellers pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment Monday in Boyd District Court. He is being held in the Boyd County Detention Center in lieu of a $50,000 bond.

The charges against Sellers stem from an undercover investigation by the Ohio Attorney General’s office which identified a computer that possessed images of child sexual abuse.

A subpoena revealed that the subscriber resided in Boyd County, Ky.

Agents from the Ohio Attorney General’s Computer Crimes Unit referred their findings to General Conway’s Cybercrimes Unit for further investigation.
