5th Street Hill in Huntington Open Following Gas Leak

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – 5th Street Hill in Huntington is back open following a reported gas leak Tuesday morning.

The connecting road between downtown and I-64 was closed about 6:30 a.m.due to the leak.

Mountaineer Gas crews responded to the scene and quickly patched the leak.

No word on what caused the leak.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – A gas leak has closed a main road into Huntington.

Emergency dispatchers tell WSAZ.com that 5th Street hill is shut down.

The connecting road to I-64 is closed between the top of the hill near I-64, and South Boulevard. The leak was reported jut after 6:30 Tuesday morning.

Mountaineer Gas has a crew on the scene. The leak appears to be about half-way up the hill, just off the road. There are no evacuations.
