CARTER COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Bridge repairs are slated Tuesday, April 1, and Wednesday, April 2, on Old U.S. 60 over Tygarts Creek near Olive Hill, according to information from Kentucky Department of Highways District 9.

The bridge possibly will be closed longer than that, depending on weather conditions. Repairs will be made to the bridge deck.

During that time, local traffic may use the nearby new U.S. 60 as a detour.

In a separate project beginning Wednesday, April 2, and continuing through Friday, April 4, crews will patch the Ky. 182 bridge over Sinking Creek between Dudley Ridge and Abe Roar Road. Traffic will be controlled by temporary signals.

Motorists, especially wider vehicles or truck traffic, may use Ky. 986 to detour.
