CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Firefighters from multiple departments remained at the scene of a large brush fire that started late Tuesday night.
The fire continued to burn early Wednesday.
Department of Natural Resources members worked to dig a fire stop. Firefighters from Ceredo, Green Valley and Ohio River Road departments helped fight the fire, while Barboursville firefighters ensured that nearby homes were protected.
West Virginia State Police officers also were at the scene after receiving information that the fire may have been intentionally set. It was reported just before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The fire is near the 6400 block of Booten Creek Road, which is located near the western side of Barboursville Park.
Firefighters at the scene tell us it broke out about 10 p.m.
We also know West Virginia State Police are at the scene investigating. Also, forestry workers, as well as several fire crews, are working to keep the fire from spreading to some nearby homes and propane tanks.
