HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Cabell County Sheriff's Department is working on multiple break-ins at storage facilities.

Debra Starkey says her unit, along with several others at a facility on Route 10 in Huntington, was broken into last week.

She says a lawnmower, a saw and a desk were among the items she lost.

"It frustrated me a whole lot,” Starkey said. “I put my stuff under lock and key because I wanted to keep it, not to get rid of it. If I wanted to get rid of it I could have set it out on the curve."

You need to enter a password to get inside the gate. Detective Josh Robertson with the sheriff’s department says they believe the thief likely was someone who knew the code.

Earlier this month, Robertson says they received a report of several storage units being broken into at a facility along West Lane in Barboursville.

He says they have a person of interest in that case.

Starkey says from now on she's keeping her stuff at home.

"I'm going to empty my storage unit, and I'm going to keep it where it's safe,” she said. “If anybody comes in here, I got something to back my word up, and they will not be walking out."

Robertson says it does not appear the break-ins at the two separate facilities are connected.
