Cable Median Barrier Saves Woman in I-64 Crash

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman escaped injury Monday evening in a car wreck on Interstate 64, just west of the Hal Greer Boulevard exit, according to a crew at the scene.

Beth Sutfin of Huntington said she was cut off by a fast-moving Jeep in the westbound lanes of I-64.

It happened just after 7 p.m. Monday.

Sutfin's car spun out of control and went straight into the median. But instead of meeting eastbound traffic head-on, Sutfin's car was snagged by the cable barrier designed to help prevent such crashes.

The driver of the Jeep did not even stop to check on Sutfin, she told
