Car Crashes into Utility Pole, Closes Road on Charleston's West Side

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A busy street on Charleston's West Side has been closed for hours after a car crash.

The crash happened at the corner of Washington Street West and Delaware Street about about 3 p.m.

Police say the driver of the car lost control, crashed through a power pole, and hit a fire hydrant and a stop sign.

The driver was not hurt.

The street has been closed since the accident as crews with AEP work to replace the utility pole.
