WURTLAND, Ky. (WSAZ) -- A woman and her three children had quite a scare Thursday when a burglar broke into their home.
The incident happened in Wurltand, Ky. about 10 p.m. Thursday
Wurtland Police Chief Philip Piercy tells WSAZ.com that the suspect, 25-year-old James Baker, quickly fled the house when he saw the woman had a gun.
The family's home security system was going off when police arrived.
Chief Piercy says he and officers from other departments were able to catch up with Baker a few streets away.
According to Chief Piercy, Baker also burglarized another home. No one was there at the time.
Baker is facing two counts of second-degree burglary. He is also facing a charge of criminal mischief.
The Chief says that charge came after Baker kicked the windows out of a Raceland Police cruiser when he was being taken to jail.
More charges could be filed in this case.
