CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man accused of shooting and killing a teenager on Charleston's west side was back in court Friday.

Mark Gaddy appeared in court in Kanawha County for a preliminary hearing.

He is charged with murder in the death of Tymel McKinney. The 18-year-old was shot to death on his front porch along 6th Street last week.

Gaddy waived his preliminary hearing. His case was bound over to the grand jury.

Darrell Carter, as well as a minor, are also in jail in connection with the case.

The victim's mother, Deanna McKinney was in the courtroom Friday and told WSAZ.com, "without my family, of course, you know, no telling where I would be mentally. But my thing is to just keep fighting this fight and we're going to be here because they're still children also, but we're going to be here. We're hoping that justice do get served."
