HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The city of Huntington is in the midst of a national competition.
Judges are in town looking at beautication efforts to make the city shine.
Huntington's in competition with three other cities, around the country for the top in bloom honor.
"I think it has a lot to do with the pride we have in our city," Charles Holley, Huntington planning director said. "There has been a groundswell of volunteerism in our city with pride in the last few years, this gives us an opportunity to showcase it and gauge ourselves from the rest of the United States."
The judges will submit recommendations on how to make the most of those beautification efforts in the months to come.
The winner of the competition will be announced later this summer.
The group behind clearing the clutter is called Huntington in Bloom.
