Coal Miner Seriously Hurt in Accident at a Raleigh County Mine

RALEIGH COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A coal miner has been seriously hurt in an accident that happened Saturday afternoon.

The West Virginia Office of Miners' Health, Safety and Training (WVOMHS&T) has confirmed that the miner was injured at Alpha Natural Resources' Marfork Coal Slip Ridge #1 Mine in Raleigh County.

The miner has been taken to a local medical facility, but no other details about the miner's injuries have been released.

No additional injuries have been reported.

WVOMHS&T inspectors are on site.
