HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A convicted sex offender was arrested recently in the 1000 block of 7th Avenue and charged with forging paperwork related to that offense, according to a criminal complaint from Cabell County Magistrate Court.
Joe C. Jenkins, 39, of Ironton, Ohio, was charged with forgery of a public record.
Huntington Police received reports that two men were watching children play from a car. Jenkins was stopped Sunday by officers in the 1000 block of 7th Avenue. Police discovered Jenkins is a registered sex offender and noticed that the age of a victim on his sex registration paperwork had been changed from 13 to 18.
Police also found an automatic opening pocket knife in Jenkins’ front right pocket, according to the criminal complaint.
Jenkins was taken to the Western Regional Jail. His bond was set at $25,000.
