PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Authorities say they found drugs on a couple being booked into the Scioto County Jail.
Detectives from the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, along with jail staff, say that Cody W. Cox, 26, and Lindsay Dawn Kneisley, 24, both of Piketon, Ohio, removed packages from inside their bodies that contained the drugs Naloxone and Suboxone,
Both drugs are commonly used in the treatment of opiate dependency.
Authorities say Cox and Kneisley also possessed tobacco, while Cox also has small amount of marijuana in his possesion.
The couple is charged with Illegal Conveyance of Drugs and Prohibited Items into a Detention Facility.
Cox and Kneisley are awaiting trial in Scioto County for allegedly committing the same offense at the jail in the past.
Cox also has a drug warrant of Ross County.
