Crash on Ohio 7 Sends Three to Hospital; Road Reopen in Area

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Old Ohio 7 is reopen near the scene of a three-car crash earlier Wednesday night that sent three people to the hospital, Ohio State Highway Patrol dispatchers said.

Those people suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash was reported about 10 p.m. Wednesday. It happened between Chesapeake and Proctorville.

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Traffic is backed up on Old Ohio 7 between Chesapeake and Proctorville after a three-car crash in the area late Wednesday night, a crew at the scene says.

That accident was reported about 10 p.m. Wednesday, Lawrence County 911 dispatchers said.

Our crew at the scene say the road is blocked off about a mile from where the accident happened.

Three people were taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

There was no word on how long the road will be closed in that area.

Compounding the traffic situation is the overnight closure of the 31st Street Bridge for deck repairs. It is not expected to reopen until 6 a.m. Thursday.
