UPDATE: Restaurant to Reopen this Weekend after November Fire

GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A restaurant is scheduled to reopen this weekend after a fire caused significant damage back in November.

The fire happened at Tuscany Cuccine Ristorante on Eastern Avenue in Gallipolis on November 13.

Fire Chief Keith Elliott says the fire started in the attic of the building and spread throughout the restaurant, leaving serious damage in the kitchen.

After months of work, according to the restaurant's Facebook page, they will reopen on Saturday.

A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10:45 a.m.

GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Crews have put out a fire that did significant damage to a restaurant in Gallipolis.

The fire at the Tuscany Cuccini Ristorante in the 1300 block of Eastern Avenue was reported just after 7 a.m.

Gallipolis Fire Chief Keith Elliott tells WSAZ.com it appears the fire started in the attic area of the building.

Chief Elliott says flames were shooting out the roof when they arrived on the scene.

He says the kitchen area had the most damage.

No one was in the building when the fire started. There were no injuries.

The Point Pleasant Fire Department provided mutual aid in fighting the fire.

Elliott tells WSAZ.com the State Fire Marshal's Office will be called in to assist in the investigation. Elliott says this is because of the significant loss.

They have not been able to determine a cause at this time.

GALLIPOLIS, Ohio (WSAZ) -- Fire crews are on the scene of a fully involved fire at a restaurant in Gallipolis.

Police say the fire is at the Tuscany Cuccini Ristorante in the 1300 block of Eastern Avenue.

The fire was reported just after 7 a.m.

A poweroutage due to fire has forced Ohio Valley Christian School to close for the day.
