HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A fire heavily damaged a home in Huntington Monday evening.
The fire started about 5 p.m. at a home along Shivel Lane in the Stamford Park area.
It took crews about an hour to get the fire under control.
Huntington Fire Capt. Jeff Sheets told WSAZ.com that when he got on scene, smoke was pouring from the home.
Capt. Jan Rader tells WSAZ.com that no one was at home when the fire started.
While crews were fighting the fire, the home was evacuated for safety reasons. They were able to get the fire under control and go back inside.
At one time, flames were shooting from the roof of the home.
There is no word on where in the home the fire started or what caused it, but multiple floors were on fire by the time crews got to the scene.

They believe everybody is out of the home at this time.
