HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A teenager is recovering after being shot in the neck during an altercation in Huntington early Friday morning.
The shooting happened in the 1500 block of 10th Avenue around the parking lot of the AD Lewis Center.
Police say the victim is Markale Foster, 18, of Cross Lanes, West Virginia.
They say Foster walked into the emergency room at Cabell Huntington Hospital following the shooting, that was reported just after midnight.
Police say Foster told them that he and several other people were on the lot at AD Lewis Center, when a fight broke out between the people from his vehicle, as well as several other people that he said were from Huntington.
Foster said the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired several shots into the vehicle he and his friends were in.
Foster was treated and released for his wound. Police say a 15-year-old who was with Foster was treated for minor cuts from flying glass.
Police say out of the seven people in Foster’s vehicle, only two of the people are giving any information about what happened.
The vehicle Foster was riding in was towed from the hospital to be processed for evidence.
