MALDEN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The mother of an infant is in jail after deputies say she was cooking meth.

Deputies were called to Hawes Drive in Malden Thursday night. When they arrived, they found an active meth lab in the back bedroom of Chelsey Hancock's home.

Hancock's four-month-old child was in the house.

The infant was handed over to other family members. Hancock was arrested. Her boyfriend, James Triplett was also at the home when deputies were there.

Triplett ran off when deputies arrived. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
