Driver Arrested on Heroin Charge

LUCASVILLE, Ohio (WSAZ) -- A traffic stop ends with a driver arrested on a heroin charge.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says Tya Gurley, 29, Dayton was pulled over for following another car too close on U.S. 23 in Lucasville about 7:30 p.m. Monday.

They say Gurley immediately surrendered 3 grams of heroin to the trooper.

Gurley was then taken in a Portsmouth hospital to be checked for a possible overdoes.

Troopers say they later found an additional 29 grams of heroin.. They say the total street value of the heroin was about $4,800.

Gurley is charged with possession of heroin and tampering with evidence.

She is being held in the Scioto County Jail.
