Deadly ATV Accident Under Investigation

LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- After fighting for his life for nearly a week, a man hit by an ATV last weekend has died.

Now, West Virginia State Police are investigating whether or not it was an accident or if it was intentional

It happened early Sunday morning on Armory Road in Monaville -- just a few miles outside of Logan.

Troopers say David Nagy, 60, was hit by the ATV as he was walking home from a party. They say there were several people on the ATV, and that one of them is a relative.

Troopers say they're getting conflicting stories about exactly what happened.

In the meantime, close family friends are coping by remembering Nagy as he was.

"He always greeted you at the door with a smile on his face. He was just a really great guy," Mark Maynard said.

Police never had the opportunity to speak with Nagy about the accident. He remained unconscious, and passed away in the hospital on Thursday.
