UPDATE: Couple Discovers Human Remains While Searching for Dog

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Investigators are recovering human remains that were discovered Sunday afternoon.

They were found by a creek along Reamer Road, about three miles south of Clendenin.

Sheriff's deputies say a couple was out searching for their dog when they saw the remains. At first they appeared to be animal remains, but once they got close enough to realize they were human remains, they called 911.

Kanawha County Sheriff's detectives along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of West Virginia are investigating.

Investigators are on the scene along Reamer Road in the Clendenin area.

Deputies say Sunday afternoon, someone found what appears to be a human skull.
