HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- West Virginia State Police arrested another man with a Detroit crime connection -- this time in the 2500 block of Guyan Avenue in Huntington late Tuesday night.
Demico Jackson was arraigned on a simple possession charge, as well as having a stolen handgun. Troopers found three firearms in the home, along with some marijuana.
Troopers said they found the identification of another man from Detroit, but he was not found.
Other charges are possible, and police say they suspect drugs could be stashed inside the home, as well as in slashed tires.
The arrest happened about 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. The home is in the Highlawn area of Huntington.
WVSP Sgt. Greg Losh says it's hard keeping the drugs out when the criminals from up north can sell the same thing here for more money.
"I've been to Detroit on occasion and met with law enforcement and drug dealers,” Losh said. “They're fighting for every square inch, where they can come down here and be a little bit more relaxed."
