CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- The development in Fayette County of a new home for the Boy Scouts of America's 2013 National Jamboree has already had a $50 million impact.

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin says that figure includes wages and materials. The Associated Press reports that nearby businesses such as hotels housing workers have added $1 million to the local economy.

Nearly 1,000 workers are helping build The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve for next year's Jamboree. It includes 10,600 acres with a number of facilities and features such as zip lines, mountain biking and hiking paths.

More than 40,000 scouts will travel to West Virginia next summer for the National Jamboree.

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. (AP) -- The Boy Scouts of America says it has received more than $85 million in new donations for an adventure camp it's developing in southern West Virginia.

The largest donation, $25 million, came from Jim Justice, owner of The Greenbrier resort. The money will be used to establish the James C. Justice National Scout Camp.

The Boys Scouts of America announced the donations for the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve on Thursday in White Sulphur Springs.

Other donations include $10 million each from the Ruby Foundation and Ed and Jeanne Arnold.

The camp in Fayette County is scheduled to open in 2013 and host the National Scout Jamboree. About 50,000 Boy Scouts are expected to attend the jamboree. Another 200,000 visitors also are expected.
