CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- More condos are being developed in downtown Charleston.
Some are already under construction -- like the ones at the top of the Ramada along the Kanawha Boulevard.
Plans are also in the works for a building along Smith Street right by Appalachian Power Park. It will house more than a dozen new condos.
Also, the old Merrill Photo Supply building along Hale Street is currently under renovation. Two more condos are being built there.
The best thing about loft-living may just be the luxury of convenience.
"You’re able to save a lot of time, it's extremely efficient, you get up and your feet hit the streets,” Mayor Danny Jones said. “There are a lot of places to go, a lot of places to eat, there's a lot of coffee shops.”
According to the city's building commission, owners of at least eight to 10 additional downtown buildings are considering adding condos.
