LAWRENCE COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ) -- An early morning police chase through part of Lawrence County, Ohio, ends with the driver being ejected, after flipping his car.
Sheriff Jeff Lawless says the incident began with a call about a domestic dispute at an apartment complex along County Road 1 in South Point around midnight.
Sheriff Lawless says the suspect in the dispute, 25-year-old Jacob Ball of South Point, left the scene before deputies arrived at the apartment complex.
Minutes later, Lawless says Ball was spotted driving along U.S. 52 near the 18 mile marker. Deputies tried to stop the car, but he fled.
The Sheriff says as the pursuit approached the intersection of U.S. 52 and Charley Creek Road, Ball tried to cut through the median to avoid several vehicles at the intersection. Instead he flipped his car and was ejected.
Ball was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital where he is listed in fair condition.
Lawless says Ball is being charged with assault, aggravated trespassing, auto larceny, disturbing public service and failure to comply with a police officer. Other charges are pending.
