MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The drug case against the man at the center of a corruption scandal in Mingo County has been dropped.
Drug charges against George White were dropped Monday in Mingo County Circuit Court.
He was arrested during a roundup last February after police claimed they found drugs in his print shop.
The judge ruled elected officials conspired to persuade him to fire his attorney in order to keep him from talking about the former sheriff's involvement in buying drugs.
The charges were dropped with prejudice, which means they can not be refiled.
WSAZ.com spoke with White's attorneys, who say White is thrilled and working to get his life back on track.
They say White wants to reopen his print shop as soon as possible.
White is also working to get back $10,000 and property that were seized during the case.
