East End Business Looking to Expand, Change Name

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A business in Charleston is making plans to expand and some other big changes are in the works.

During a meeting Thursday, the Board of Zoning approved a permit for the owner of Fruitcake to sell alcohol at its Washington Street East business.

The owner of Fruitcake, Keeley Steele, tells WSAZ.com she also plans to change her business' name to "Starlings Coffee & Provisions" and extend its hours. The shop will also add soups and sandwiches to its menu.

Currently, Fruitcake sells cakes, cookies, pies and pastries, along with organic teas & coffees.

No word on when the changes will be made.
