UPDATE: Woman Killed in House Fire; Name Released

LOGAN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- We now know the name of a woman who was killed in a house fire during the weekend.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office tells WSAZ.com, Mary Bryant, 57, was not able to get out of her home in the Mt. Gay area of Logan when it caught fire Sunday morning.

Logan Fire Chief Scott Beckett says Bryant used a walker.

He says a smoke detector might have alerted her in time to escape the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

LOGAN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An elderly woman has died after a fire Sunday morning in Logan.

The fire happened around 6 a.m. Sunday in the Mt. Gay area of Logan. Firefighters say a woman died from the fire.

The State Fire Marshals Office is investigating the cause. Firefighters say there were no working smoke detectors in the home.
