SUMMERS COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An elementary school teacher in Mingo County is behind bars after deputies say they found him with marijuana.

Deputies tell WSAZ.com, they arrested Fredrick Huffman during a traffic stop on the Route 20 bypass near Hinton in Summers County.

Huffman is a teacher at Gilbert Elementary School. He is being charged with felony possession of marijuana.

Deputies say they found an ounce of marijuana, plus weight scales and a gun from Huffman's car.

Investigators say Huffman's possession of the gun was legal, but it will call for a stiffer penalty on the drug crime.
