PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Two Pikeville Police Officers have been hurt in a car crash while responding to an emergency call.
Kentucky State Police say the accident happened on U.S. 23 at the intersection of U.S. 119 in Pike County on Thursday.
Officer Joseph Stone was the driver of the car; Officer Russell Blankenship was a passenger in the cruiser.
Troopers say the cruiser was traveling north on the highway, with its lights and siren on, when it was hit on the passenger side by a pickup truck in the intersection.
The driver of the other vehicle was also hurt in the accident.
All three people were taken to Pikeville Medical Center for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
