CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- It's going to get real noisy in downtown Charleston this week.

The West Virginia Public Safety Expo kicks off Wednesday night with a parade of emergency vehicles.

Organizer Terry Sayre says the annual event typically has at least 50 vehicles involved in the parade.

The parade will begin at 6 p.m. It will go along Kanawha Boulevard to the Charleston Civic Center. The expo will be held through Saturday.

The event draws emergency responders from across the state for workshops and continuing education courses.
