One Dead in Crash; Ice Blamed for Dozens of Accidents

PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) -- Emergency crews are on the scene of a fatal accident along Route 119 in Pike County, Ky, according to Kentucky State Police.

The accident was reported just after 7 a.m. No other details are being released at this time.

Dispatchers in a number southern W.Va. and eastern Kentucky counties say there are multiple accidents being reported due to slick road conditions.

So far this morning, emergency crews in Mingo County have responded to more than 2-dozen accidents.

Right now, crews are on the scene of an accident where a car has hit a house at the intersection of Malburry and Vinson streets.

Williamson Police say the crash caused some foundation damage to the house and the vehicle was totaled, but no one was hurt.

In Logan County, several accidents have also been reported due to freezing rain.

Dispatchers are urging drivers to use caution as they head out this morning.
