HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man accused of breaking into a woman's house and stealing their son is now in jail, facing several charges.
Police say Donzelle Dejuan Runnels, 39, was threatening the mother of her son via text message; threatening her life if she wouldn't let him see their child.
Officers say early Saturday morning, he showed up at her door, kicked out a panel of it to unlock it and then went inside.
According to the criminal complaint, Runnels threatened her with a gun and took their son.
Just after 1:00 a.m., police pulled Runnels' car over on Adams Avenue. They found the child on Runnels' lap. He was wearing only a diaper and was wrapped in a blanket. He also was not wearing any type of seat belt.
Runnels is now being charged with domestic assault, burglary and child neglect.
