Fayette County Man Pleads Guilty to Having More than 34 Pounds of Marijuana

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Fayette County man who possessed more than 34 pounds of marijuana and a shotgun near his Oak Hill residence pleaded guilty Monday to federal drug possession charges, according to U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin’s Office.

William Michael Holley, 42, formerly of Oak Hill, W.Va., pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute marijuana for remuneration.

Holley possessed approximately 34 pounds of marijuana in an outbuilding located near his Fayette County residence. Holley intended to sell the marijuana.Holley also possessed a 12-gauge shotgun in the same outbuilding where the marijuana was located. The firearm was located in close proximity to the marijuana at the time both items were seized by law enforcement.

Holley faces up to 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he is sentenced Aug. 2 by U.S. District Judge John T. Copenhaver, Jr.
