Apartment Fire in Jackson County, W.Va.

RIPLEY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Fire crews have cleared the scene of an apartment that caught fire late Sunday night.

Jackson County 911 dispatchers tell WSAZ.com the fire started in an apartment above a business on North Court Street just before 10 Sunday evening.

They say the apartment is located right in front of the Jackson County courthouse.

One person was inside when the fire started but was able to get out safely.

No word on the cause at this time.
