Fire Damages Home in Kanawha City

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A family in Kanawha City has a lot of cleaning up to do after fire damaged their home.
It happened about 12:00 p.m. Friday on Kanawha Avenue.
Firefighters tell WSAZ.com the furnace in the basement of the house burst into flames.
Crews were able to contain most of the damage to the basement, but there was some smoke damage to the first floor.
Everyone inside was able to make it out safely.
