Fire Damages Home in Kenova, W.Va.

KENOVA, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Smoke from a house fire Tuesday evening damaged a home in the 1800 block of Poplar Street, Kenova volunteer firefighters tell WSAZ.com.

The owners were not home, but firefighters rescued two dogs. Both pets are expected to be OK.

The fire was reported about 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters say the fire started in the basement and does not appear to be suspicious. It remains under investigation.
